Where they lead (honest take)
Revolt leads on being fully open source, community-run, lightweight, and free to self-host.
Venoly’s edge is the security layer — an inspectable policy VM (Venilator), hash-chained integrity (Cipher + Warden), behavioral anti-abuse (Aegis + Sentinel), and an EU/privacy-first posture — wrapped in a familiar community app. These are different priorities, not a strict better-or-worse. Venoly uses encryption at rest (not end-to-end) and is not federated; we state that plainly.
